There is literally sand on the ground so I do not recommend open toed shoes. Very low live romantic environment great for a meet and greet or pregame with the girls.

This was my first time in this establishment. There's actually sand on the floor/ground! ID is checked at the door. We sat at the bar. Our bartender was great! She's a great mixologist, hilarious conversationalist, and an asset to the Sandbar.

If you're looking for a fun and unique cocktail lounge to hang out at in Oakland, look no further. I've gone to sandbar several times and love it. From the beach vibe created by the decor and sand on the floor as you enter, the lighting, and the drink/cocktail options available. This place is great if you're looking for somewhere low key, to catch up with friends and potentially watch a game or two during the afternoon. It also gets busier later in the evening as party goers come out to take the night. I typically grab a rum punch or dark & stormy, but they've got plenty of alcohol, so pick what speaks to you. Very fun vibes, and that gorilla milk packs a punch in a small package! Definitely a chill way to spend a Friday evening.

Great drink specials. The staff and owner are super friendly. Great crowd, very welcoming. Great place for couples or singles.

A new hidden gem. Great bartenders. Creative cocktails. Very unpretentious - come as you are! Oh and it's beach themed. Also, don't blame it on the gorilla milk. I also hosted an event here. The grotto can be booked out for a bar minimum. Talk to Hasani about it.
